Seven members of the JEH Chapter attended the American Hibiscus Society National Convention in New Orleans June 19 – 21, 2025. The convention was sponsored by the New Orleans Chapter, and featured presentations by leading hibiscus experts, workshops on Air Layering, Germinating Seeds, Portable Greenhouses and Rooting, lots of fabulous Cajun food and most of all networking with fellow AHS members. The Hendry Herald was again awarded the President’s Award for AHS Best Newsletter – for the third consecutive year! Beth Meehan, AHS Historian, was also installed as the AHS 2nd Vice President. Valerie Costa was recognized as the 2024 Florida Collector Sweepstakes Winner. It was a very enjoyable and productive convention, and the JEH Chapter was named as the host chapter for the 2026 AHS Convention, June 25 – 27, 2026!
